Knutsford U-9 s battled brilliantly to secure well deserved silverware in both the Cheshire and Chester Cups last Sunday.
In the Cheshire Cup, Knutsford were unfortunate to be drawn in the group of death consisting of: Macclesfield, Altrincham, Lymm and Chester. However, Knutsford got off to a flying start with a 15-0 win against Lymm and then were held 0-0 in a thrilling mud bath of a battle with Chester. A similar result against Altrincham meant that Knutsford needed to beat Macclesfield to win the group. Unfortunately in a wonderful match Knutsford succumbed to a last minute try, losing 0-5 but guaranteeing progression into the knockout rounds.
In a thrilling quarter final against Sandbach, Harry Mitchell dived over for a last second winning try after a thrilling run by Declan Butler. The semi final against a tough Ashton-on-Mersey side ended 0-0 but with luck on their side, Knutsford won the toss of a coin to progress to the final.
The final against Bowdon was a wonderful match with Knutsford attacking throughout but kept out by uncompromising tackling. Again, amazingly there was no score but the host club chairman decided that it had been such a thrilling match that the cup was to be shared, much to the delight of all the squad; Max Davies, Max Bowyer, Ted Parr, Harry Mitchell, James Lees, William Rogers, Alex McInnes, Declan Yoxhall, Declan Butler, Kyle Blake, Mia Stephenson and William Thomson.

One half to the Knutsford's Under 9's group travelled to a very wet Chester RFC to participate in the inaugural Chester Cup tournament.
In very trying conditions, the commitment of the squad showed through despite being pitched against stronger squads and at times playing with reduced numbers.
As the weather continued to deteriorate, Knutsford battled on with fantastic tries from Alex Foord, George Halpin and Matt Hewson.
The remainder of the team including William Owen, Rory Boyle, Michael Kerr, Fergus Grieves, Henry Owens and Matthew Pacini ably assisted the team to success in the final of the Shield competition resulting in a 15 - 10 win against Chester.
