JUNIOR CHAIRMAN | LETTER TO ALL PARENTS
Chairman's review.
Last Season, as you will no doubt agree was a great success both on and off the field for Knutsford Rugby Club Juniors. We had our largest number of boys and girls ever with a total of 147 players in ages from U6s through to U13s, and even gained our first caps for the county, as three of our U13s made the grade to play for Cheshire. A great achievement for such a young club, and a tremendous sense of pride for us all. Well done boys.
This season I take over as chairman of the section and look to fill the boots of our outgoing chairman Steve Mooney. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve for all his hard work over the last few yrs, and to say "you can stop nagging me now Steve". But seriously, he has achieved a great deal in a short amount of time and leaves the section on a rapidly growing upward curve.
Socials.
I still will continue coaching the U10s this year as well as chairman duties, with my main aim this year being to grow a far more inclusive and social side to the section for both the children and parents alike.
The family fun day and tag tournament was my start of that process which was a great success and will now be an end of season annual event. So get in training now. We also intend to hold a number of socials through the year including, Octoberfest, Christmas party, Sale shark trips etc, so please watch this space and show your support.
Please see the flyer for the October fest and please contact your coach for tickets, it promises to be two great nights, one for the kids and one for parents. It would be fabulous to see lots of parents there to get the season kicked off with a bang. All proceeds shared 50/50 between our section and Toft cricket junior section.
Helpers.
As you will know our Sunday morning tuck shop, drinks and bacon butty stalls are a popular meeting place. We have a few dedicated helpers who tirelessly man the kettles and bread knives, but we could always do with more. Therefore I am asking if from each age group one or two parents volunteer to help out, and we take it in turns. Will only equate to one or two Sundays in the season if we get a good number of you. Please see your coaches if you wish to help. Thanks in advance.
Kit Sales.
This year kits will be purchased as a bulk order which may take several weeks.
Season fees.
The fees this year will be 55GBP for one child (in cases of more than one child the fee is 45GBP per child).
