Knutsford Rugby Club 2009 Awards. Colin Hurrell (Club Man of the Year), Sam Kemp (Most Improved Player of the Year), Ed Snook (Young Player of the Year), Ollie Mooney (1stXV Player of the Year), Adam Kelly (2ndXV Player of the Year) and John Parr (Kasuals Player of the Year).

  AGM Meeting Chaired By Gareth Walton

Gareth Walton described the 2008-2009 season as 'another phenomenal success in the short but exciting history of Knutsford Rugby Club'. The Events team surpassed all expectations with an astonishing fund raising program delivering over GBP20k this year (great thanks indeed to Steve McGuinness, Rouge and Karen, Bear, Jug and Michelle, John Selby and of course Gareth and Jill). The year also saw success in grant application with the FSA to bring about the new gym equipment (superb work by Gareth) and our first taste of international rugby with the visit of Montmorency to Knutsford (huge thanks to Libby and Steve Mooney, Neil+Caroline, the Sawyer family and of course Carl).

As we move forward we have a few changes to share;
  Colin has decided to stand down as President over-seeing what must be one of the most successful sporting enterprises in Knutsford (Tony Evans will be our next President).
  Mark Todman will be our 1st XV Manager to ensure we fully maximize our playing potential.
  Ollie Mooney succeeds Sam as 1st XV Captain.
  Jonathan Gateley will now become web master to take over from Neil Loftus.
  Robin Maxwell is our Press Officer.
  With an astonishing vote of support (or as Sam put it 'After being shamelessly shanghaied into becoming KRFC's first ever Kit shop manager I thought I might as well get started'), Sam will now be responsible for Kit Sales. We all wish him great success.

Gareth also asked all members to raise a glass to John Philbin who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. John was an incredible ambassador for the Club and will be sorely missed.
