  Nov 24th 2008 | Grant award from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts (FSA).

Knutsford Rugby Club's Chairman, Gareth Walton, was delighted to discover that the FSA had approved the grant application for a comprehensive package of training equipment suitable for an ambitious and rapidly developing Rugby Club.

'We are thrilled with the 18k award from the FSA. This award will help support our growing infrastructure needs within the Club,' said Gareth. 'The main aspects of the award will fund a Scrumaging Machine and a package of aerobic and weight lifting gymnasium equipment.'

About the FSA

Many communities, organisations and individuals throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland have benefited from major capital projects through to modest but critical training bursaries. Our goal is to increase active participation in sport and the arts, especially amongst young people and those with more ability than resources.

Our Trustees include some of the most influential and knowledgeable people in their fields, such as Dame Janet Baker and Baroness McIntosh in the arts, Sir Christopher Chataway in sport, and our chairman, Sir Tim Rice, with a foot in both camps. Lord Attenborough, after involvement from the start as a Trustee, is now our Honorary President.
