- Way back when I was actually any good I was picked as part of the Cheshire junior colts to go to a training camp in Orrell where we were coached by Will Carling, Dewi Morris, Wade Dooley and Jerry Guscott. I still remember the whole day we arrived at about 8.00am it was a freezing cold February day and the rain was coming down sideways. We spent the best part of 8 hours running round in the pouring rain, we even had to go in to change our kit twice because it was so wet, but nobody cared because we were being coached by England.

- I remember watching England win the world cup in 2003 it was a Saturday morning I was watching the final in bed when Johnny made that drop goal I remember screaming leaping out of bed and running down stairs, me and my dad were dancing round the living room singing swing low sweet chariot when my mum came in and told us to grow up. It didn’t sink in until the Sunday when Johnno’s picture was plastered across the front of every newspaper, I still have the front page of the telegraph framed on my wall at home.

- I started playing rugby at age seven back when we played full contact at that age and have played ever since. I have always been a 2nd Row although I did have a brief stint as No.8 for a season back when I was a bit fitter. My formative years were spent mainly at Winnington Park but when I moved to Knutsford I decided it was time for a change and I haven’t regretted it since.

- Never have I met a more varied group of people in one rugby club from Gas men to doctors from farmers to students yet everybody is an equal. There are no cliques at knutsford there is no old guard, just a group of like minded individuals who love the sport. I have played at Knutsford for two seasons yet I feel like I have known everyone at the club for years.
